Rathtrevor Beach Spring


Spring at Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park brings some amazing learning opportunities for your class for a field trip in May or June. Detailed below are programs, starting at 1 hour to 2.5 hours, that are perfect for bringing a bit of focus and inspiration to your visit to Rathtrevor Beach.

The 1+ hour programs are $6+GST/student (minimum $130 per class).  

The 2.5 hour programs are $12+GST/student (minimum charge for 20 students).

All of the program fee goes directly toward funding these programs and ensuring we are able to continue offering these important environmental education opportunities in the future, click here for more details

1. Feeling Crabby? Gr.K/1  We are always crabby in the intertidal zone of Rathtrevor Beach! Learn about these local animals and see if you can find one or 100 on the beach.

2. Bodacious Bugs  Gr. K/1 What's a bug? find out as we inspect the insects of the area and learn some nifty sampling and ID techniques.

3. May the Forest be with you Gr. 2/3 The forces of nature can reveal secrets of the forest: What's edible? What's not? What's the use of that? & Who is home?$6.00 per student + GST (min $130 per class)

4. Intertidal Suvival Gr. 2/3 When the tide is out a whole new world is revealed and it's not an easy place to live in. See how animals and plants survive in the intertidal zone.  $6.00 per student + GST (min $130 per class)

5. Froggy Frog World: Gr. 2/3 Leap into a frogs life where metamorphosis will transform you from egg to frog!  $6.00 per student + GST (min $130 per class)

6. Look at that... a Habitat! Gr. 4/5 From the micro to the macro, Rathtrevor's natural habitats are everywhere! See who lives where and figure out the food chains for the community. $6.00 per student + GST (min $130 per class)

7. Intertidal Zone-dicular Dude! Gr.4/5 Life in the intertidal zone is totally gnarly! You'll be amazed how creatures and plants must adapt to live in this habitat. 
$6.00 per student + GST (min $130 per class)

8. Forest Discovery Program Gr.5-7 Ever wonder how to identofy your local trees and native plants? Or how you could make a cup of tea in the forest? Forests are important to all living things and play a significant role in all of our lives.  Explore the life in a forest and see how plants, animals, fungi and microscopic organisms all depend on each other. $12.00 per student + GST (min charge for 20 students)

9. Seashore Discovery Program Gr.5-7 Get an inside look at Rathtrevor Beach as we lead your students on an exploratory journey of the seashore. Identify marine habitats, animal adaptations and discover the spineless wonders of the intertidal zone. $12.00 per student + GST (min charge for 20 students)
