Watch as your class is stranded on an island or in a park (wishful thinking) and challenged to survive the rigors of Survivors! Challenges will test your students’ ability to experience, remember and recall the natural and cultural history of the park. Two teams will compete in a series of tests, culminating in the final challenge that will draw on the skills and knowledge they learned the day before. Possible challenges include a beach seine with marine life identification, making rope from raw plant fibers, learning about ethnobotanical uses for native plants, a historical scavenger hunt, and making fire without matches or lighters. Challenges and activities vary between parks!
This year we are offering Survivors at Horne Lake Regional Park and Rathtrevor Beach, Miracle Beach and Newcastle Island Marine Provincial Parks. Prices and schedules vary between parks.
